Five Turkish coasts that work for family holidays

Antalya, Alanya, Side, Belek and Kemer all welcome children, but each coast asks something different from you: a shorter airport transfer, a sandy entry, or a promenade a stroller can handle. Below is how we rate them after visiting 80+ resorts here and building 500+ family plans.

    Antalya

    Best for mixed-age children · 20–40 min from Antalya airport

    Konyaalti and Lara behave differently. Lara is sand with a gentle shelf into deep water; Konyaalti is pebble and busier. Rainy-morning backup: the aquarium and the Olympos cable car.

    Belek

    Best for a single-resort week · about 35 min transfer

    Resorts here are built around children, with shallow pools, kids clubs and on-site water parks. The land is flat, so buggies and strollers move without effort.

    Side

    Best for curious 8–14 year olds · about 1 hour transfer

    Roman ruins sit a short walk from the sand and the old town is car-free. The beach west of the peninsula has the softest sand and the widest shade.

    Kemer

    Best for cooler evenings · about 1 hour transfer

    Pine mountains meet the sea, so afternoons stay milder than on the open coast. Beaches are pebbly, so pack swim shoes, and take a boat to a quiet cove.

    Alanya

    Best for value and a long season · 2 hours from Antalya, 45 min from Gazipasa

    Cleopatra Beach is sandy and shallow a long way out, and prices stay below Belek levels. The castle climb is steep, so save it for the evening.
